This course is designed to build on the department’s introductory
video
offerings. Students will be expected to know and readily use cameras
and digital editing equipment upon arrival. This project–based
offering will center on script development and character analysis.
Classics of the American cinema will be studied. Students may work
at local 27 professional television stations or video production
houses to gather real-world authentic experiences. A major video
project will be required and public presentation of the work is
mandatory. Students successfully completing Advanced Digital Video
may receive advanced academic standing at Champlain College and
Castleton State College.
Prerequisite: Students must have had at
least a “B+” average in Digital Video and the approval
of the
instructor.
